I spent all day on campus studying. Yep, that's what cool people do when they have spring break from work off....right? On finance, you are killing me, so I had to try to at least feel put together in a simplified manner in at least the fashion aspect of my life!
Me and my boots are living it up while we can, I see 100 degree temps in my not to distant future! Sweater: Loft, Polo: AE, Skirt: Vintage thrifted, Boots: Last Chance
My mom grew up in a Chicago suburb- and bless that fabulous woman for raising her kids right and teaching us to LOVE St. Patrick's Day! Corned beef and cabbage, green sugar cookies, and green attire are all sought after by all 6 of her children! Bless her again for altering this dress to fit my petite frame and adding fabric of my choice to the bottom to support my modesty quest in fashion! Dress: Loft, $15 (altered and black cordory added by mom), Jacket: Romy, $4 mega sale, Tights: Wal-mart, $3, Shoes: Famous Footwear, $20
My little sister asked me to recap the Music Inspiration Challenge, since I love love loved her post recapping the 12 songs I challenged her to! If you are a new reader let me briefly explain, my little sister told me that she dressed most of the time inspired by music (she's one of those artsy cool girls like that). We got the idea to challenge each other to pull off outfits based on playlists of songs we assigned each other. Mind you, most these looks were WAY out of my comfort zone, but I am glad to complete the challenge and branch out! So, if you wanna check out my little sister's visit her at her new blog (her other's shut down for no reason) http://overturesandorganza.blogspot.com/

When I thought of this song I thought of an upbeat fun outfit, and a full skirt! I got this shirt for my birthday from H&M around the time the challenge started and knew it would be incorporated into "Fireflies" for the color alone. I was pretty thrilled to open the gift and find that the skirt from my mom found on the same shopping trip was exactly what I had in mind.
I was inspired by ZooeyDeschanel, (I mean who isn't) the lead singer of She and Him. I wanted to go for a retro feminine look, but also wanted a little bit of a color pop for such an upbeat tempo. I felt like the sunny yellow was appropriate for the vibe of the song. I'm going to be egocentric for a minute- I was pretty proud of this ensemble, and boy did I get compliments from students and fellow MBA cohorts alike. I love those few days I seem to impress both very different demographics!
Skirt: Gap, thrifted, $4 (and my favorite wardrobe piece if you couldn't tell), Shoes: Target, $13, Shirt: Target, $4.50, Cardigan: NY&Co, $8, Tank: Downeast Outfitters, $10

Shopping Philosophy
The humanities undergrad loves to shop and create works of art through fashion- the business graduate student remembers to live economically and on a budget. Thus I shop often, dream big, look for quality, and pay very little for (almost) all pieces of clothing.
I pride myself on being one truly amazing bargain hunter. I love the thrill of finding something amazing and paying only a few dollars. As I post outfits I will let you know what I actually paid for items, proudly.
Some of my favorite pieces I don't believe you can ever have enough of: Cardigans, skirts, belts, shoes in every color, and modest layering shirts.
