Waited So Long

I wore this in my engagement pictures, and I shared that I bought it and waited so long to wear it just because I had a hunch an engagement may be coming. I am loving wearing this dress! I wore it for a presentation for a board I sit on for my church full of CEO's, judges, and congressmen. I felt classy and still young- I am in love with everything about this dress!

"I've Never Woken Up In Handcuffs Before" - Hans Zimmer

/
Shirt: Anthropologie, $30, Skirt: Loft, $15, Shoes: Foreveryoung Shoes, $20, Belt: Target, $8, Bracelet: Old Navy, $2 Earrings: NY&Co, $5ish

When I listened to this song I immediately recognized it from the film Sherlock Holmes. My mind went racing from the fashions in the movie and I new I wanted two things: ruffles, and printed satin. I wasn't meaning to do this challenge when I put on this shirt, but as I looked at my skirts I had the Ah-ha moment combination I hoped would happen from the inspiration from this song.

Music Inspiration Challenge- "Poker Face" - Lady GaGa

Posted by Picasa
Ever since I saw Casino Royal I have thought about poker in a new way. I knew I wanted to go semi-formal for this song, and something kind of whimsical. Luckily I had a semi-formal dinner party with some friends that called for such an outfit. When I went shopping over the holidays with my mom and sister they convinced me I needed to break out of my business attire and buy a whimsical piece or two....I'm please with this change even though it's the first bold bright pink item to grace my wardrobe! Maybe it won't be my last.

I Heart My Skinnies

Posted by Picasa
I vowed I would let a few years pass and hopefully avoid the skinny jean. I'm kind of in between a pear and an hourglass shape- both shapes usually aren't huge fans of the skinny as far as flattering goes. When my mom found some at Wal-Mart for $10 I thought maybe, just maybe I would wear them one day and just see. Maybe it was the price, maybe it's that I love them in boots, maybe it's that I'm training for a marathon and have more confidence....but I'm lovin' my skinnies! I like them so much, I bought a second pair this week in black!

Busy

I have to confess, I took this picture about 3 weeks ago during finals week. I've never been under so much stress in my life finishing up the gradebook as a teacher as well as study and take final exams as a student. It's like the two most stressful things that have ever occurred happened simultaneously. I think I woke up that morning knowing my life would be insane, and thought- let's grab my busiest sweater, busiest shirt, and 2nd brightest shoes. Go outfit, you got me through that crazy day!

First Day

I've been coveting this sweater for a while. AZ summers beg for modified fabrics and lengths, and this super light, short sleeved cardi was a must! With a nice coupon, I bought 3! And do you ever find a store where the clothes just fit like a glove? I'm finding most my wardrobe purchases as of late are from NY&Co for a reason! And this is what I wore to my first day of class for my MBA. (umm, thus the less frequent posts, I'm studying all the time now)! I tried to say I'm a teacher and a business student all at once. How did I do?

All from NY & Co Shirt: $12, Skirt: $12, Sweater: $20 (but more like $12 after coupon), Earrings: $4, Shoes: Mudd, $40

My Favorite Shirt

I usually try to rework items to make outfits different. BUT, this is a total repeat from a few months ago. I love this shirt, and it needs all the attention, so basic pieces seem to be best. If it isn't broken, why fix it right? Only this time I actually got close up shots on the shirt details. I can't wait to repeat this one again!
