You can't find a formal when you need one

I read somewhere, I think in Lucky's Guide to Style, that you should buy a formal you love when you see one, even if you think you'll never use it. I bought one 2 years ago and found myself seeing Wicked with a dressed up crew the next weekend. I found this dress at Downeast Basics for $10 and figured why not, another formal event may occur. It took 2 months, but a formal family dinner party was held, and I was glad I was prepared! Thank you Lucky!

Summer Round Up

It's finally starting to cool off in AZ, meaning we're under 100 for the highs now. I have one last week of pictures from summer weather outfits, this is the start of the end! I'm also pretty proud that this whole outfit was about $11 total :)

Whenever You're Ready Fall

We joke in AZ that there are 3 seasons: hot, crazy hot, and monsoon. There are 6 months that this state is pure bliss, like a never-ending fall. When you're all upset about snow I will bask in my fall. I think I'm so ready for it this year I've been purchasing only fall colors. Burnt orange = my new BFF

Mascot

These were my high school colors, we were even the wolves. I had no idea I was doing this at the time, but when I put this on I had an urge to attend a basketball game all the sudden...

Things I Would Never Do

I just haven't been feeling my fashion diva lately. I know she's in there somewhere, but inspiration has left lately. One night as I prepped for my early morning I was going crazy trying to figure out what to wear to work. I had this crazy idea to do something I would never usually do. I can wear "colored" jeans to work, so I figured I would never go skinnies on a weekday, never do rocker hair, and steer clear of boho since it's not my thing and I don't feel professional. Then something crazy happened, I figured why not do them all at once? Ta-da! Let me tell you, I was asked if I was a sub by a student, and complimented by almost all the kids I teach. Maybe I should combine things "I would never do" more often!

Unexpected Surprise

Have you ever had something you looked at on the rack and thought "Uh-Uha!"? This shirt was one of those. Luckily my sister talked me into trying it on, because I loved the color the second I got it on.
I love the unexpected surprises!
