I Get Dressed Gets a Much Needed Makeover

I know we love the Google Reader, but I'm finally making some much needed aesthetic changes to I Get Dressed. Go ahead, check out the actual blog and see if you can spot the changes- and while you're at it, if you don't mind, let me know what you think.
(More to come this week while I regain my vision and health entirely!)

4th of July

I LOVE the 4th- food, family, fireworks- my favorite things! I know I said I wasn't going to post this week, but at my family shindig my sister turned to me and said, "You look cute, let me take your picture for your blog!" Well...I was hesitant. My lasik surgery went amazingly well! Err, the surgery part did. You have no idea how amazing it is to see one mile away (all roads in PHX are exactly 1 mile apart in squares, it's a great place to find your way once you learn street names but I'll jump off this tangent now)...so I could see details on passing cars and tell people what kind of car was driving an entire mile away! I can see details on plants and far of mountains- it truly is a miracle and yes I did cry the morning after! I didn't have to do PRK so I'm healing much faster. However- there was a complication pre surgery. They fit your eye with some suction thing to get the laser set up, and my eye didn't numb on the left. It hurt a lot, which it wasn't supposed to, until they removed the suction and numbed it more- then it was all good. So the suction thing was fighting with my eye, and there was a lot of pressure and blood vessels in my eye broke. I look like a zombie in my left eye, it's all red. It embarrasses me and my nephew confirmed at the family party that I "look a little scary." So, blessed sunglasses to shield you all! It looks bad, but I do feel pretty good, just weak as my body heals. Would I recommend lasik- more than anything! It was AMAZING! But I'm still going to take a few days I chill in my jammies and rest. Just a couple more days, and I"ll be back in the swing of things!
PS- my shirt's print is so busy even the close up didn't come out too clear- I'll try better next time when I can totally see everything! It's all good though, you don't want too close, I can't wear make up for a week....

4 Eyes

I felt like a nerd today, so I dressed a little "prep school nerd." I had to wear my glasses today, which I hate. I seriously think they shrink my eyes since I have such a heavy prescription. I always think of outfits to wear with them, and when I get them on I hate it and take them off. I thought today since I had no other choice I would dress around them. Also, I thought I would force myself to enjoy them since this will hopefully be the last time I will have to wear glasses! Tomorrow I'm getting lasik surgery done, so you'll understand if I miss a few days here!
I have one past outfit I haven't posted that I will schedule for this weekend, but after that it may be a few days. Maybe I'll have a family member take a picture since I won't be able to see what I'm doing for a few days (that's what they say, I'm technically doing PRK, which takes longer to heal from).
Wish me luck, and thanks for putting up with my horrid glasses!

Red White & Blue Early

Can you tell this is my favorite color combo? It appears a lot, and this is my one week to use it as an excuse! I wish I would have taken a close up, the thin blue stripes with the tuxedo ruffles are what makes me love this dress so much! I'm glad I take photos....time to tailor this one!

Blessed Swedes!

It's totally normal to be so happy you are almost moved to tears when you find out they are opening an H&M in your state.....right?

Royal Blue

I've decided this color looks good on everyone, so I think it's a shade I'll be buying more of!

Maxi Love

I wasn't sure I would be rockin' the maxi this summer, love them, but I'm short. On a good day I'm 5'4 and I was worried this would cut me off in all the wrong places. And then one magical day last week I walked into American Eagle, which I normally don't shop at (only for jeans), and I found this number for a ridiculously low price in a color I've been hoping to add more frequently to my wardrobe. When I put it on I was surprised at the cut, and thought- people may ask me if I got implants.... maybe I'm dreaming here, probably so (I was a nearly A all of high school, and when I quit formal sports I blossomed). I at least think I have an extra umph up top and to me that's worth losing an inch or two on the bottom.....thoughts?

Unique Primary Colors

I don't own a lot of yellow- purple and yellow are the colors that could use some attention next time I go shopping.... I tried to use whatever yellow I had for the weardrobe contest, and found this shirt hiding in my closet just as the time was up. Jessica of weardrobe still let me enter this outfit- what a doll! When I put on yellow I was just feeling the primary colors, but since the yellow is a unique hue I wanted to give the whole outfit a twist with a unique red and blue. I feel like I look fake next to the colors of nature with 3 bright hues! I'm also indulging myself with a 4th pic today, the lighting was awesome outside- overcast in AZ doesn't happen often- and this is the first picture in my 7 months of almost daily photography that my natural eye color came out without any help! I was happy green came out to play this day. I also noticed freckles, which I haven't had since I played soccer in high school. I guess the running outdoors is bringing out my youth again. Anyway, my vanity gets the best of me since this is the first pictures of my face I've liked in a long time- so thanks for tolerating a 4th!
