It's finally time for me to post the last Music Inspiration Challenge 2013 picture. I definitely took my time doing this challenge, but have taken even longer to get it up! I wore this about a month ago- yikes! Time to start actually posting these pics I'm taking daily!
All I can really say is I thought of the idea of settling down, running away, and becoming some hipster mom fit to be married to Brandon Flowers, which just kept producing the plan to wear a tunic, printed pants, and a headscarf. And any girl married to a rockstar had better throw some cheetah print in there somewhere...

When bright pants became all the rage I knew it was only a matter of time before a bright red pair entered my closet. This week we'll go nautical, I expect a new theme with the same pants will now be a weekly occurance!

I went country for this song, thinking about the references to the horse and the cherry tree- both things found in the country and rarely in the city. I envisioned the female character letting go of a love that wants to get married, and her independently realizing that "you're not the one for me." That just screamed pointy kick-A style cowgirl boots, and bright colors to symbolize the boldness of the realization and declaration that it's time to move on with life.

One thing I love about where I live is that I'm 30 minutes from the 5th largest city in the US, and I'm 30 minutes from small town western life. I live in the middle, I love it. Today I channeled the small town I teach in, the rodeo is coming up afterall!

I thought I'd be cheap and go with my first instinct on this song- NAUTICAL! I can't think of many color combos I like more than red and navy blue. The song is so upbeat thought, I had to swing away from the typical stripes and add something more whimsical. This read sweater with a touch of pink/peach flowers did just the trick for me. Also, the line where she says "The legs" repeatedly, yeah, had to show those off. I liked this idea so much I wore it for some engagement pictures a friend wanted to experiement with us on. I cut out the awesome fiance because he'd appreciate it, but he's not going to get off so easy with wedding pictures I fear!

Shopping Philosophy
The humanities undergrad loves to shop and create works of art through fashion- the business graduate student remembers to live economically and on a budget. Thus I shop often, dream big, look for quality, and pay very little for (almost) all pieces of clothing.
I pride myself on being one truly amazing bargain hunter. I love the thrill of finding something amazing and paying only a few dollars. As I post outfits I will let you know what I actually paid for items, proudly.
