Better to Overdress

I cleaned and packed the good ole' classroom today, so I wanted to be casual. I was asked by my father if I had worn this to work, since it's "a little casual." I laughed and let him know there was one other teacher, male, dressed slightly nicer than I. I have always had the theory that it is better to overdress than under dress for any and all occasions- even when moving boxes. Does anyone agree with me? Do you pick and choose when to dress up, or do you too try to be a little above the norm in all situations?

Little Green Dress for Graduation

I fell in love the day I found this dress at Forever21. If you haven't noticed, I believe in sleeves! Sundresses are a must for AZ and for some reason cute and light-weight dresses with sleeves are hard to come by. It was graduation today, and tradition equals me wearing a dress, with a polyester robe over, on the football field, with it being 101 outside. I didn't sweat at all in this baby! Too bad I didn't take a picture of my ever so stylish black graduation robe. All night I kept thinking how I'm excited to accessorize it with a hood in 2 years!

Authoritative Colors

I felt like mixing textures today- I kept adding scarves and belts, but in the end, I decided these two textures and colors together created an authoritative simplicity that just worked best.

Feeling 1940's Retro

Posted by Picasa
When I found this sweater at Anthro this week for one amazing deal I fell in love! This seriously looks like many of the crochet sweaters I have seen in vintage pick. Nice imitation Anthro- and thanks for making the price right!

Preppy/Business-Like/Feminine/Unique

I know I look like I'm going to kill someone in the last picture- don't worry, I wasn't. Sometimes when you use a timer some funny faces just come out, and this pic showed off my new favorite shirt the best. Brace yourselves, I paid more for this shirt than any other shirt in my entire shopping career. It just fit me so well and is my style (preppy, business-like, feminine, and unique)- plus there was the added friend pressure to buy (I usually shop alone or with my little sister who also means business when shopping).

Accidental Post

Sorry about my super personal post I accidentally published on this blog instead of my personal blog. Please disregard it if you get it through google reader, and please don't stalk me since you know what schools I'm into. But, on that personal note if you didn't get it, I did get into grad school this week, but only on my second choice option and am still deciding what to do with my life- wait for top choice or shoot for top 10 school in a year, or take it and be grateful!

Oh but let me make this fashion related instead of wasting time: I did buy a power suit to celebrate. I will so model it tomorrow and take a picture- you just wait!

Authoritative Summer Dress

I had the big yearbook pass out today (which I'm in charge of) and I wanted to be comfy, cool in the heat, but still look authoritative. I also had to do it after a VERY late night with presidential traffic.

Presidential Speech

Thanks for all the great advice for the big presidential speech- it truly was the most amazing thing, and a huge highlight of my life! I was so inspired, and truly proud to be an American.
I did pull out a sun dress, believe it or not. This dress is light knit jersey, but the navy I think makes it look nicer than the lightweight dress it is. I was glad this was my choice, somewhat more formal than most, but still kept me as cool as one can be in 105 degrees!
