Jennifer Aniston Called, She Wants Her Look Back

It's hard to believe, but I'm in the application phase of business school, and I was thinking about my suit I bought when I started and what little wear it has seen. I decided to remedy this, my jacket and skirt are going to get out more!
I wasn't sure where I got my inspiration until I looked through a fashion book the other day using Jennifer Aniston as the classic queen who loves her blazers and jeans. Thanks Jen for making every woman in America want to be you!

"Rhapsody in Blue" - Gershwin

Dress: BCBG via Buffalo Exchange, $20, Cardigan: H&M, $10, Shoes: Target, $3.24, Belt: Goodwill, $2, Earrings: Old Navy, $2

Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin brings moods of being flirty, frantic, dramatic, and upbeat all at once- and of course I couldn't miss out on the color Blue through this quest! I tried my best to find an outfit that would incorporate these moods while still feeling somewhat true to the era the song came from.

I hope this was a success, I don't think I've ever received so many outfit compliments from my students before!

"Little Wing" - Jimi Hendrix

Hendrix is such an easy one to start things off for The Music Inspiration Challenge because he is a style icon! Have you ever thought how much this man impacted style at the time? The 70's would not have been the same! I went with my most 70's iconic pieces, a maxi dress and a military jacket. The purple flowers scream Jimi, of course there had to be something bling-y or shiny, and I wanted to copy the military influenced clothing that he wore to make a statement.

Guess what I realized, I graduate with my MBA in 5 months! I was cleaning through pictures and found this outfit I wore back in late October. I had a final for a class, took the day of work, went to lunch (instead of packing a Bentgo Lunch Idea) with my now fiance, and studied my guts out. I think I was going to the innocent school girl vibe so my professor who I think was afraid of me after asking lots of questions on why he worded a quiz a certain way would think I am a nice person after all. I am, I promise, I just really wanted in A in the class with the hardest reputation in my program! I was thrilled with that A-, let's thank the color pink!

So, naturally we decided to do it annually, maybe even more often. I am starting on Monday, my sister started this week. We're excited to stretch ourselves and try some new looks. Maybe it will get me out of the funk I'm in.
