Plain and Simple
I think my camera is on its deathbed. It's also insane starting a new school year... so I apologize if posts are scarce and pictures are not so great!
I moved stuff around in my room and had meetings, this was functional and somewhat professional for the day.

Sick Day
I'm trying to be less of a slacker- but I have enjoyed wearing my PJ's a lot and refusing make up these last weeks of my summer break. This is the last week, so good things are coming! I have some good things planned for back to school week!
However, today I have the flu. And just so you know, I'm still wearing a fantastic headband with feathers, but that's about all anyone would want to see.
I will hopefully be back tomorrow!

My Favorite Shirt
I usually try to rework items to make outfits different. BUT, this is a total repeat from a few months ago. I love this shirt, and it needs all the attention, so basic pieces seem to be best. If it isn't broken, why fix it right? Only this time I actually got close up shots on the shirt details. I can't wait to repeat this one again!

Some Classics Never Hurt...
I went out with a group of friends, and I just couldn't get the idea of wearing a plain white T out of my head! Since I've shrunk this year, I've only purchased some work essentials in my correct size- and yes, white polo= worn a lot! Sometimes I think my outfits are boring, but I stop and look and pics and think- classics are classics for a reason. Do you agree? Would a going out outfit look better in something more flashy, or does the classic white polo cut it?

Oh Those S-um-mer Nights!
This is preppy for me when it's 108 (down from 115) in those lovely AZ nights. This is the time of year when I think- why do I live here? Next summer, I hope my internship takes me someplace nice and rainy all summer long. I'll quit whining, in only 3 months I'll be loving every minute of my geographical location!

All Greek to Me
I couldn't figure out why on earth I go with Greek inspired shoes and accessories each time I wear this dress. I haven't worn it in a long time, and as it's being altered I tried it on and pinned it and decided to wear it pinned....oh I need to learn to be patient. Anyway, I finally figured it out! My mythology class I took in high school showed most women wearing dresses this same cut, only with long skirts, and mostly in white. And truly Grecian gals piled on the accessories like they would be destroyed by the Gods at anytime- thus I did too. With all images being white or a light blue, why oh why would a purple version just scream Greek to me? I finally figured it out.
Oh that subconscious mind! Oh Disney- chaining a horrific myth into something cute. My teacher would roll over and die if she knew this character created inspiration for me, even subconsciously!

Excited
I'm not gonna lie, when Lucky Style Spotter put me on the front advertisements of their current page, I was pretty darn excited! So excited I decided to bust out my floral dress again soon- like, the next day!
And on another exciting note- this is my 150th post! I'm all about the sesquicentennial!

Trying to be hot in the heat
It was 115, but I was still on a mission to try to look hot without feeling hot for my night out. Sometimes shorts are OK I decided, even if your with someone you want to impress! Don't mind my dorky checking my watch pic, but I wondered if I was late just before the timer went off- and then of course it's the one that shows the shirt details best!

Wicked
I found this dress at a second hand store with tags still on- and it was a killer deal! I thought- will I ever wear something that's kind of fancy but not quite formal? I realized it would work great for more formal business events, it would also work if I chaperon a dance next year. I was quite thrilled when neighbor was forced to sell their Wicked tickets two weeks after my purchase! It was the perfect dress for the event! I I also really didn't mind random people stopping me to tell me that either! Aren't stranger compliments the best kind?
love the retro details on the dress, and thought it totally called for retro hair. I did wear bright red lip stain also, but it faded by the time I was able to take some pictures. The red in my eyes has almost faded, but still vivid for the close up. Maybe don't show this to small children.

Summer Casual
This is what summer casual looks like for me! Surviving 110 degrees equals a breezy skirt, t- no undershirt, open airy sandals, and one accessory to keep it somewhat fun.
Do you love these shades? My sister told me they were so cute and asked where I got them. Umm, my surgeon that did my lasik gives them to all patients to wear for a while after since they are a little darker than usual.
Don't worry, next pic I'll be able to wear make up again.

Project Time!
What does one do when they aren't supposed to spend time in public for about week and they're a major busy body?
1. Move and get settled! I wasn't sure where my life would end up, so I've lived a lot out of boxes the past 9 months, now I know what city I'll be in for grad school and I'm making it more official. It's time to gear up for teaching school to start (I'm at a modified year round, so we start end of July), and gear for the business of being a full-time grad student as well.
2. Go out anyway, Ikea was an organization must- and Danielle's jewelry organization post had me inspired! I had to wonder why people were staring at me until I went to the bathroom and think oh yeah, I look like a bad horror movie zombie with these red eyes of mine! And then I was worn out, oh surgery, I forgot it takes some time and patience to be 100%!
3. Take advantage of living in the same city as the seamstress (aka my mom) and learn a thing or two! Here's a preview of my 1/2 done project. Oh I'm stoked. And on a side note, isn't my mom's vintage sewing machine wicked sweet?
I'll be back to fashion soon- My eyes have almost healed, are only part red now, I can wear make up tomorrow (but admit I've thoroughly enjoyed the break), and I'm motivated to create outfits again! Did I mention I'm going to see Wicked this week? So pumped for my dress debut!
Alter me!
